Long ago words began as drawings. With time drawing for communication shifted to letters, though we tried to retain symbolism, perhaps since early societies would often crash.
In “Bow” B curves like a drawn bow & arrow. b = non flexed bow. B = a flexed bow. ow = that hurts. O = perhaps a target. W = often for distance and times past.

It is likely people stay with habits as well as

It is likely that human addictions are a direct cause of our global pandemic. Turns out, while we are experiencing a world wide virus epidemic, now is a great time to whip addictions. In my own life I became aware that I had formed binding addictions (that had started like a hidden flubug), and decided to try and
